Fudan-Nottingham Tele-seminar on Young People and Mental Health

On March 11, Fudan’s School of Public Health and the Institute of Mental Health, University of Nottingham held a tele-seminar under the theme of “Young People and Mental Health”. It’s the first tele-seminar organised jointly by the two institutes after the “Fudan-Nottingham Seminar on Mental Health” in October 2010.

The seminar was co-chaired by Prof. Nick Manning, Director of Nottingham’s Institute of Mental Health and Prof. FU Hua from Fudan’s School of Public Health. Nine Chinese and 16 Nottingham participants shared their views on teenager depression, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), unhealthy weight control behaviours (UWCB), lack of physical activities because of psychological factors, school violence and bullying, among other research areas. The participants also discussed possible cooperation in the future.
